Travelbird - Customer Case Study

Travelbird, an Amsterdam-based online travel company founded in 2010, sought to simplify vacation planning and scale quickly as it expanded to 17 countries and 700 employees. Facing a planned TV advertising push and the need for better business intelligence to support A/B testing and centralized data-driven decisions, Travelbird hired a Head of BI to build scalable analytics and ensure the platform could handle a surge in customers.

Travelbird migrated its full stack to AWS using services such as S3, EC2, RDS, Redshift, Kinesis, and EMR to build data pipelines and BI processes. Within months one-fifth of employees used the data daily, the team identified and removed ~10% unsellable products, managers’ workloads fell by 25–30%, and upgrades and feature deployments became much faster—enabling more accurate, timely, and customized travel offers.
