TracFone Uses AWS Training and Certification to Save Costs and Build Employee Confidence

TRACFONE WIRELESS, a prepaid wireless provider with about 1,000 employees and millions of customers, needed a scalable way to build cloud skills as it moved from on-premises data centers to the cloud. To avoid relying on expensive consultants, TRACFONE turned to Amazon Web Services and its AWS Training and Certification offerings to help both technical and nontechnical staff gain common cloud fluency and support the migration.

Amazon Web Services implemented a phased learning program that started with AWS Technical Essentials and AWS Business Essentials, then progressed to advanced courses, instructor-led classes, and certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate. The approach helped nearly 200 IT employees build AWS skills by early 2021, with more than 30 earning AWS Certifications, while also reducing training costs and strengthening employee confidence and a culture of continual learning.
