The City of Charles Sturt Transforms Public Service Delivery for its Community using the AWS Cloud

The City of Charles Sturt, a council serving 120,000 constituents in Adelaide, South Australia, needed to replace decades-old on-premises systems and disconnected departmental data with a more agile, sustainable platform. Working with Amazon Web Services and its cloud services, the council set out to improve collaboration, modernize its infrastructure, and speed up delivery of public services.

Amazon Web Services helped City of Charles Sturt migrate its legacy IT architecture to the AWS Cloud in phased rollout, using services including Amazon VPC, Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon CloudWatch, IAM, Amazon Inspector, and GuardDuty. The migration was completed in four months, server provisioning time dropped from four weeks to eight hours, and the council achieved 99.999% uptime with no service disruptions, while also strengthening security and enabling faster innovation.
