TC Energy Maximizes Operational Capacity by Innovating on AWS

TC Energy, a major North American energy company based in Calgary, faced growing demand for natural gas pipeline capacity but could not quickly add new infrastructure because of regulatory delays. The company needed a faster way to analyze its vast pipeline network and 88,000 real-time data points, a process that had been manual, slow, and dependent on senior staff review. TC Energy worked with Amazon Web Services and used Amazon SageMaker to help address this challenge.

Amazon Web Services helped TC Energy build and launch ORBIT on AWS, an optimization solution designed to identify pipeline anomalies and improve capacity planning. By automating and accelerating analysis across disparate data sources, AWS enabled TC Energy to streamline decision-making, maximize pipeline capacity, and increase natural gas throughput, helping the company save millions of dollars annually.
