Talabat Improves Database Reliability by 60%, Boosts App Performance by 20% Using Amazon Aurora and Amazon ElastiCache

Talabat, the food delivery platform, faced reliability, scaling, and visibility challenges with its on-premises database infrastructure, which made provisioning slow and increased customer impact during traffic spikes. To modernize faster, Talabat partnered with Amazon Web Services and used AWS Migration Acceleration Program, Amazon Aurora, Amazon ElastiCache, and AWS Elastic Beanstalk to move and simplify its database environment.

Amazon Web Services helped Talabat complete the migration in May 2021 with a fully managed setup that reduced latency, eased database load, and improved observability. The results were strong: database reliability improved by more than 60%, overall app performance increased by more than 20%, provisioning became a click-based process instead of taking weeks, and Talabat reported successive quarters with zero database-related scalability incidents.
