Taco Bell Satisfies Customer Delivery Demand with Serverless on AWS

Taco Bell, one of America’s largest restaurant brands with more than 7,000 U.S. locations, needed to rapidly meet surging delivery demand during the COVID-19 pandemic while managing a highly complex menu across many digital channels. The company already ran nearly all of its infrastructure on Amazon Web Services and looked to AWS Serverless services to keep pace with customer demand.

Amazon Web Services helped Taco Bell build a serverless architecture that shifted focus away from server management and toward business logic and real-time menu and restaurant data for delivery partners. The solution enabled Taco Bell to start small, pay only for what it used, and automatically scale as demand grew, helping the brand deliver at massive scale with low upfront cost and flexible growth.
