A Amazon Web Services Case Study
RedShield, a cybersecurity provider that helps customers understand and prioritize evolving web application and DDoS risks, needed a more scalable way to protect applications as attack volumes and sophistication increased. Its on-premises approach was no longer sufficient, and it wanted automatic scaling plus a geographically distributed presence to make targeting harder; it chose Amazon Web Services, including AWS Global Accelerator, to support this shift.
Amazon Web Services helped RedShield migrate to AWS and redesign its network architecture for scale, moving from a single-account BYO IP model to a multi-account setup with AWS-provided IP addresses. With guidance from AWS Enterprise Support and AWS Infrastructure Event Management, RedShield could support about 500 accelerators and publish across 80–100 data centers, helping mitigate attacks peaking at over 1.3 Tbps and enabling it to offer cybersecurity services to more customers through AWS Marketplace.
