A Amazon Web Services Case Study
SportPursuit.com is a London-based flash-sales site (founded 2011) offering 7‑day deals on sports products from 600 brands to more than 1 million members across 40 countries. The founders needed a fast, low-cost way to launch and scale the business without long‑term server commitments, and as the site expanded into new regions they faced large, daily traffic spikes (thousands of concurrent users during morning email pushes) that required high availability and low latency.
To meet that demand SportPursuit runs its platform on AWS—using EC2, Elastic Load Balancing, CloudFront, Route 53, RDS, S3, ElastiCache, VPC, and CloudFormation—to scale on demand and serve global users with low latency. The result is a fast, user-friendly site with >99% availability, significant cost savings by scaling only during peaks, and much faster provisioning (minutes versus days), freeing the team to focus on growth rather than infrastructure.
