Sony India Software Centre Accelerates Decision-Making and Insights with Optimized Cloud Data Platform on AWS

Sony India Software Centre needed to improve its Cloud Data Platform, which executives use to generate reports and track KPIs, but data growth was slowing performance and causing CPU alerts and delayed reports. To solve this, Sony turned to Amazon Web Services and used Amazon Redshift on AWS, with a focus on upgrading the warehouse for better scalability and faster decision-making.

Amazon Web Services helped Sony migrate to Amazon Redshift RA3 instances with managed storage, enabling separate scaling of compute and storage. The result was 10% faster query performance, up to 10 hours saved per week for the IT team, about $25,000 in annual cost savings, and storage capacity expanded from 2.5 TB to 128 TB, with reports now delivered on schedule.
