Sony DADC New Media Solutions - Customer Case Study

Sony DADC New Media Solutions (NMS), operating its Ven.ue digital supply‑chain platform for studios, broadcasters, music and gaming companies, was facing rapid growth and capacity limits. The company stored about 20 petabytes of video (growing ~1 PB per quarter) and found its on‑premises data center and tape libraries would be costly to expand and inefficient for seasonal peak demands.

NMS migrated Ven.ue distribution workflows, OTT playout, and its 20 PB archive to AWS—using EC2, S3, Glacier and CloudFront—gaining the scalability and elasticity to move and deliver more than 800,000 hours of video globally, support HDR and large file workflows, spin up large test and render environments quickly, and avoid major hardware refresh and tape‑storage capital costs.
