A Amazon Web Services Case Study
Simfy Africa, a South African music-streaming service, needed a more scalable and secure way to grow beyond its on-premises hardware limits. The company wanted to expand its subscriber base quickly without major capital expenditure, while also reducing latency and improving customer access to music. Amazon Web Services helped provide the cloud infrastructure needed for that growth.
Amazon Web Services implemented the migration in just one day after two months of planning, giving Simfy Africa the ability to expand infrastructure in minutes as demand increases. The move improved song-loading speed and made track and artist details faster to access, while five-year projections showed AWS would be 27 percent more cost-effective than Simfy Africa’s previous self-managed hosted solution.
