Silver Style Studios - Customer Case Study

Silver Style Studios, a Berlin-based game developer behind the LightStream engine, set out to build The Dark Eye—Herokon Online, a browser-based MMORPG that needed to support millions of players worldwide without client installs. The team’s primary challenge was finding a secure, global infrastructure that would integrate with LightStream and provide the scalability and reliability required for a large, distributed player base.

Silver Style moved quickly to AWS, deploying EC2 and ELB for compute and load balancing, S3 and CloudFront for assets, and RDS plus other AWS services for persistent data and operations, while using AWS’s flexibility to iterate and optimize their code. As a result they achieved 99% availability over 12 months, eliminated new hardware expenditures, lowered operational costs with consumption-based pricing, gained precise global scaling and stronger security assurances, and now plan to continue using AWS for future projects.
