Signify Accelerates Innovation Using AWS IoT Services

Signify was preparing to enter the home security market with Philips Hue Secure and needed to move quickly without sacrificing the quality, security, and reliability expected from its existing Hue lighting ecosystem. To support this, Signify worked with Amazon Web Services using AWS IoT services to extend its mature architecture for a new camera-based product that had different needs for battery life, video data, and security notifications.

Amazon Web Services implemented a serverless approach with AWS IoT Core and Amazon Kinesis Video Streams, which integrated the cameras with the existing Hue ecosystem while maintaining quality and security. As a result, Signify launched Philips Hue Secure in just 18 months, fully integrated with Hue and delivered at scale.

Signify
