Siemens Healthineers Ultrasound Business Area Improves Customer Experience Using AWS

Siemens Healthineers’ Ultrasound Business Area needed a better way to improve remote servicing and customer experience for hospital IT staff, especially as ultrasound devices moved between locations and connectivity became harder to maintain. To address this challenge, the team used Amazon Web Services, including AWS Systems Manager, Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, and Amazon DynamoDB, to build a secure remote connectivity and service solution.

With Amazon Web Services, Siemens Healthineers developed and deployed a proof of concept in just three months, enabling remote software distribution, automatic log collection, continuous updates, and live technical support. The solution let the team remotely connect to systems, install a 16 GB patch, and monitor activity in the AWS Management Console, while improving speed, scalability, security, and reducing the need for additional data centers through AWS Lambda.
