Setu Supports 10 Million Monthly Digital Payments Securely on AWS

Setu, part of Pine Labs, needed a secure and scalable way to streamline digital transactions on India’s Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS) as payment volumes grew rapidly. Using Amazon Web Services and services such as Amazon Elastic Container Service and AWS Graviton processors, Setu looked to support its BBPS bill payment solution while reducing infrastructure and compliance burden.

With Amazon Web Services, Setu scaled from 50,000 transactions per month to 10 million monthly transactions on BBPS, while also speeding up the creation, testing, and deployment of new features. The company added capabilities such as COU integration and real-time transaction reconciliation, onboarded more billers and merchants, and established disaster recovery in the AWS Asia Pacific (Hyderabad) Region, all while improving efficiency and cost savings.
