A Amazon Web Services Case Study
Senao International, a retail subsidiary of Taiwan’s Chunghwa Telecom with more than 550 stores, needed to build an e-commerce channel quickly to protect market share and drive store traffic. The project had strict PCI DSS and encryption requirements, while existing on-premises CRM and POS systems suffered frequent downtime, limited scalability, and security breaches—prompting the company to hire DevSecOps manager Aloysius Chang to lead a rapid, secure migration.
Senao migrated core systems to AWS, using AWS KMS for encryption, AWS WAF + Lambda for automated web/POS protection, and EC2, RDS, CloudFront, CloudWatch, and S3 for compute, data, delivery, monitoring, and logging. The site launched in one month, now sees ~10,000 visits/month and generates ~20% of revenue; security incident detection became ~90% faster, CRM downtime was eliminated (no outages in three months), and daily maintenance fell by 63%, freeing the team for training and analytics work.
