A Amazon Web Services Case Study
Seaco Global Ltd., the world’s largest sea‑container leasing company with more than $6 billion in assets and 1.2 million containers, moved its headquarters to Singapore and found its SAP systems in aging UK data centers were slow, unreliable, and unpatched—leading to high latency, frequent outages and a monthly billing run that took four days.
Working with Lemongrass Consulting, Seaco migrated its SAP Business Suite and other workloads to AWS (EC2, EBS, S3, Glacier, VPC, Direct Connect and AWS management tools). The move cut SAP latency by ~90% (2,700 ms to 360 ms), reduced the monthly billing cycle from four days to one, lowered annual hosting costs by more than 50%, improved disaster recovery from about a week to under a day, and delivered greater agility and scalability for future growth.
