Sage Software - Customer Case Study

Sage Software GmbH, a subsidiary of The Sage Group serving over 250,000 German organizations, needed a faster way for its Professional Services team to run parallel training and support environments. Installing and configuring virtual machines for training and customer troubleshooting often took hours per session, produced poor performance, and required additional time to revert systems—creating a major productivity bottleneck.

Sage built the Sage Cloud Services Portal on AWS (using the AWS SDK for PHP, Amazon EC2, and S3) to provision complete training and consulting environments with a single start command, add a Cloud Drive for file sharing, support timed RDP evaluations, and enable multi-tenant billing. The portal was developed in two weeks, reduced setup to minutes, eliminated in-house IT needs, and saves the team an estimated 500 hours of server configuration time per year while lowering costs and improving service quality.
