Rivian Executes Vision of Agile Engineering on AWS

Rivian needed a way to overcome severe on-premises R&D infrastructure bottlenecks that were slowing product lifecycle management, CAD, and CAE work. After one of its high-performance computing clusters failed and cut compute capacity in half, the automaker turned to Amazon Web Services (AWS), including AWS services such as Amazon FSx for Lustre, to build a more agile engineering environment.

Amazon Web Services helped Rivian rapidly stand up a new compute cluster in the cloud, with a working proof of concept in just 3 weeks instead of the 6 months engineers expected. Rivian then migrated production environments to AWS, giving engineers on-demand, automated access to resources and improving efficiency and innovation.
