Rightsizing and Optimizing Infrastructure to Cut $1 Million in Costs with GE Vernova

GE Vernova needed to reduce cloud infrastructure costs while maintaining performance across its database and storage environment. Working with Amazon Web Services, the company used AWS tools such as Amazon RDS, AWS Lambda, AWS Instance Scheduler, and AWS Graviton processors to identify savings opportunities and optimize its workloads.

Amazon Web Services helped GE Vernova automate snapshot cleanup, shut down idle nonproduction databases, rightsize instances, and migrate workloads to AWS Graviton processors. These changes produced major results, including about $1 million in total savings, $460,000 in annual savings from instance scheduling, $504,000 from downsizing, another $100,000 after additional Graviton migrations, and $18,000 per month in storage optimization savings.
