Case Study: RedBus achieves 30–40% cost savings and 4x faster website performance with Amazon Web Services

A Amazon Web Services Case Study

Preview of the RedBus Case Study

redBus - Customer Case Study

redBus is an Indian online bus-ticketing company that has sold over 30 million tickets and offers a SaaS platform for bus operators. Running on traditional data-center infrastructure, the company struggled with high costs, long server procurement and upgrade cycles, and an inability to handle large processing fluctuations, which harmed productivity and scalability.

redBus migrated to AWS using services such as EC2, Elastic Load Balancing, RDS, S3, EBS and CloudWatch to gain on-demand scaling, redundancy and faster provisioning. The move delivered a roughly 30–40% overall cost benefit, about 4x lower latency from the Singapore region, improved reliability and auto-failover, and the ability to instantly replicate environments for testing—shortening time-to-market; the company plans to add SNS and SQS for monitoring and messaging.
