Razer - Customer Case Study

Razer, a global gaming-hardware and software company, needed a fast, cost-effective way to launch Synapse 2.0—a cloud-based service for storing and applying custom device settings—and scale it worldwide from zero to 1 million users in 12 months. With a small team, tight budget, and ambitious international expansion goals, Razer decided against on-premises infrastructure and sought a platform that could deliver rapid deployment, global reach, and elastic scalability.

Razer built Synapse and its other web and mobile services on AWS using EC2, RDS, Auto Scaling, Elastic Load Balancing, CloudFront, S3, Kinesis and related services, completing production deployment in six months. The result: Synapse hit 1 million users within the target year, Razer now supports about 15 million gamers with 99.999% availability, dramatically reduced operational overhead (smaller team, faster deployments), and redirected savings into product R&D and global growth.
