Qlik - Customer Case Study

Qlik, a global leader in visual analytics and BI, wanted to make its new Qlik Sense platform easy for customers to adopt by offering a cloud-based, SaaS delivery with flexible pricing and terms. With more than 36,000 customers worldwide and an architecture well suited to the web, Qlik faced the challenge of quickly building a multitenant, globally available Qlik Sense Cloud while maintaining governance, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Qlik partnered with AWS and APN Consulting Partner Slalom to design and deploy Qlik Sense Cloud on AWS, using services such as EC2, S3, CloudFormation, Route 53, and CloudFront across multiple regions and availability zones. The collaboration delivered a beta in 18 weeks, attracted about 8,000 users during six months of beta, and enabled rapid, automatic scaling and global reach — positioning Qlik to grow its user base toward tens of thousands and adopt an AWS-first cloud strategy.
