PropertyMe - Customer Case Study

PropertyMe, founded in Sydney in 2013, provides cloud-based property-management software that streamlines banking, invoicing, reconciliations, bulk disbursements, maintenance tracking and inspections. The company needed an infrastructure that could scale cost-effectively, support rapid product development and expansion (especially into the U.S.), keep a lean engineering team, and reduce a complex payment process that could take nine hours down to minutes for managers with 1,000+ properties.

PropertyMe migrated to AWS using EC2, RDS (MySQL), ElastiCache, S3, Route 53 and load balancing to deliver a stable, elastic platform paid for monthly. The move enabled rapid growth—transactions processed rose from ~30,000 (AU$22M) at six months to ~277,000 (AU$145M) six months later and about one million (AU$490M) by 18 months—supported a 5,000% jump in photo uploads, tens of thousands of managed properties and large-scale SMS usage, and let property managers complete complex disbursements in minutes while keeping infrastructure costs aligned with revenue.
