A Amazon Web Services Case Study
Prodea (formerly Arrayent) is an IoT cloud platform-as-a-service that helps consumer-product manufacturers connect and manage smart devices. The company faced slow, resource-intensive releases: its Java and Ruby on Rails services were hosted in multiple data centers with manual deployments, 3–6 month release cycles, complex upgrades that required extensive coordination, and poor cross-team confidence and collaboration.
Working with AWS partner nClouds, Prodea Dockerized its stack and migrated development, staging, and production to AWS, building an automated CI/CD pipeline (Jenkins, ECS, Ansible Tower, CloudWatch, Route 53, ELB, Lambda, etc.). The result was a >10x improvement in delivery speed—releases moved from months to weekly or same-day—faster provisioning for customers, fewer defects and rollbacks, more developer bandwidth for modernization, a healthier culture, and greater business agility that contributed to Prodea’s growth and acquisition.
