Pixartprinting - Customer Case Study

Pixartprinting is an Italian online printing company (founded 1994) serving over 600,000 customers across Europe and processing about 10,000 jobs a day. The business had outgrown its local web-hosting provider: the infrastructure couldn’t scale with 15% annual growth, hampered rapid application iteration, and failed to absorb traffic spikes such as Black Friday, forcing lengthy manual fixes and slow VM provisioning.

Pixartprinting migrated to AWS—moving VMs to Amazon EC2, adopting Amazon ElastiCache and RDS, and using CloudWatch, CloudFormation and Docker—then shifted to a microservices architecture on Amazon ECS with help from APN partner XPeppers, implementing immutable infrastructure and CI/CD via CodeCommit, CodePipeline, and CodeBuild. The result: time-to-market reduced from days to as little as 15 minutes, reliable handling of peak loads, daily sales exceeding €1 million, freed developer time, lower costs, and faster innovation through targeted microservices-based sales portals.
