PhotoVogue - Customer Case Study

PhotoVogue is an online photography platform from Vogue Italia (Condé Nast Italia) that showcases work from emerging photographers. With about 130,000 photographers and over 400,000 images (up to 50 MB each), the site was outgrowing its physical infrastructure—provisioning took too long and the user experience for photographers and editorial staff was slowing growth.

Working with AWS Advanced Consulting Partner XPeppers, PhotoVogue reengineered its platform on AWS in three months, using Amazon S3 for storage and upload URLs, AWS Lambda for automated image conversion, Amazon API Gateway for API caching, and CloudFront as the CDN. The move cut provisioning from days to hours, made uploads and processing up to 90% faster, reduced IT costs by about 30%, improved reliability (handling a 20% traffic spike seamlessly), and enabled greater revenue potential.
