PayEasy Migrates Oracle to AWS and Saves Millions

PayEasy is a leading online retailer in Taiwan with about 5 million registered users and daily sales of TWD 3–5 million. Its business relied on an aging on‑premises Oracle RAC database; replacing servers would cost TWD 25 million and required two hours of DBA work daily, fortnightly data‑center visits, and third‑party standby support, so the company decided to migrate to the cloud.

Working with AWS partner eCloudvalley, PayEasy upgraded to Oracle RAC 12c on Amazon RDS for Oracle and adopted AWS services such as EC2 and AWS WAF. The migration eliminated the TWD 25 million CapEx, cut database administration by two hours a day, reduced Opex by about 15%, removed regular data‑center visits and third‑party support, and improved performance, scalability and security.
