Preview of the Onedio Case Study

Onedio - Customer Case Study

Onedio is a Turkey-based content-driven social network (often compared to BuzzFeed) launched in 2012 that serves millions of mainly mobile, 18–25-year-old users across multiple countries. With a small IT team and a real-time news model where downtime is immediately visible to users, Onedio needed a scalable, reliable, and easy-to-manage platform that would let it move quickly and support rapid expansion (including new language sites).

Since 2013 Onedio runs its platform on AWS, using EC2 Auto Scaling and Elastic Load Balancing, ElastiCache, RDS and DynamoDB, S3, CloudFront, and Elastic Transcoder, plus fast failover and automated management. The result: faster time-to-market (an English site can be launched in about a day), reliable handling of millions of daily visitors without the heavy operational burden, and the flexibility to expand and adopt developer tools and machine-learning services.
