OLX Saves 50% Using CloudFront Functions for Edge Compute on AWS

OLX Group needed a cost-effective way to replace legacy on-premises hardware for content delivery and support a high volume of lightweight edge compute with low latency and reliable scaling during traffic spikes. The company turned to Amazon Web Services, using Amazon CloudFront and initially Lambda@Edge, to modernize its CDN and improve performance.

Amazon Web Services helped OLX Group rearchitect its CDN with CloudFront Functions, Route 53, Amazon S3, Athena, AWS WAF, and AWS Shield, enabling faster edge processing, safer rollouts, and stronger protection. The results included handling more than 170,000 requests per second at peak, reducing edge compute costs by 50%, cutting latency to under 1 millisecond, and improving logging, visibility, and operational efficiency.
