NEWLOG connected its IBM Tivoli backup environment to Amazon S3 using the AWS Storage Gateway (mounted as iSCSI volumes) for regular backups and a second volume for disaster‑recovery snapshots. Snapshots in S3 can be converted to EBS volumes and attached to EC2 instances to run Publisherlite if on‑premises systems fail.
