NET2GRID Drives Transition to Green Energy, Builds Utility Monitoring Solution on AWS

NET2GRID helps energy companies and consumers better understand real-time electricity usage so they can improve energy availability, reduce costs, and support the transition to green energy. Using Amazon Web Services, including Utility Meter Data Analytics on AWS and Amazon Data Firehose, NET2GRID built a cloud-based utility monitoring solution to address the challenge of analyzing smart meter data and predicting energy demand more accurately.

With Amazon Web Services, NET2GRID implemented a serverless, machine-learning-powered platform that delivers appliance-level insights, over 90 percent disaggregation accuracy, and 98 percent appliance-event detection accuracy within 15 seconds. The solution also improved next-day consumption forecasting to 98 percent accuracy, helping utilities save millions and potentially achieve more than 3x ROI. Customer impact was strong too: NET2GRID reported a referral rate above 85 percent, a four-star white-label app rating, and frequent usage among German customers.
