Nestlé Efficiently Scales to 2.8 Million Connected Devices with AWS IoT

Nestlé began its IoT Platform initiative in 2016 with the challenge of scaling connected consumer devices globally while avoiding the burden of managing infrastructure. Using Amazon Web Services, including AWS IoT Core and AWS Lambda, Nestlé set out to build a serverless, repeatable architecture that could support faster innovation across its business units.

With support from Amazon Web Services Professional Services and tools like Amazon SageMaker, Nestlé expanded its IoT platform to more than 2.8 million connected devices in 97 countries and 2.1 billion data points ingested. Amazon Web Services helped Nestlé cut development time from months to weeks and enabled new products like Purina’s AI-powered Smart Litterbox, delivering richer data and new consumer-facing functionality.
