NASDAQ FinQloud - Customer Case Study

NASDAQ OMX, the world’s largest exchange operator, needed a way for its Global Data Products division to store and serve massive amounts of historical, millisecond-level market data for products like Market Replay and Data-On-Demand. Customers—including trade desks, compliance teams, and quant firms—required fast, reliable access to tick and top-of-book data for validation, back-testing, and regulatory needs, but maintaining indefinite, high-performance in-house storage and infrastructure was impractical.

NASDAQ OMX moved these services to Amazon Web Services, using Amazon S3 to deliver hundreds of thousands of small files daily at low cost and with high agility. The cloud solution cut time-to-market by about threefold, demonstrated minimal startup cost, removed infrastructure burdens, and provided scalable, flexible storage—enabling the division to launch products faster, reduce storage costs, and explore further AWS-powered innovations.
