Modelorama Deploys Omnichannel Solution on AWS to Deliver Digital Shopping Experience, Strengthen Connections

Modelorama, Mexico’s second-largest convenience store chain, needed a direct-to-consumer omnichannel solution to complement its 10,000 physical outlets and support online shopping without overhauling its on-premises infrastructure. To meet that challenge, Modelorama turned to Amazon Web Services, using AWS services such as AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway, and Amazon RDS to build a flexible serverless architecture.

Amazon Web Services implemented a cloud-based solution that let Modelorama scale automatically with traffic, avoid service interruptions, and improve security with services like AWS Security Hub and Amazon GuardDuty. The results were strong: Modelorama built the solution in 6 months instead of 15, processed 500 transactions in the first 3 days of the pilot without interruption, and expects about $5 million in savings over 3 years while preparing to scale to 2,000 stores and 500,000 orders per day.
