A Amazon Web Services Case Study
Mirae Asset Global Investments, a Seoul‑based arm of the Mirae Asset Group founded in 1997, provides global asset‑management services and employs about 250 people in Korea. The company’s public and subsidiary websites were running on aging collocated servers whose disks and performance were deteriorating, creating capacity limits, slower response times, and a risk of losing prospective customers unless the infrastructure was refreshed.
Mirae Asset migrated its web servers and databases to AWS (using EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront, Route 53, SES, and CloudWatch) over two months with AWS design and migration support and post‑migration training. The move cut operating costs by more than half, removed the need for costly server replacements, delivered near‑100% availability and negligible latency, and enabled around 300% faster website updates—positioning the firm to expand AWS usage to more mission‑critical workloads.
