MeteoPole Zephy-Science is a consultancy and software studio for the wind‑energy sector that also offers ZephyCloud, an online, pay‑as‑you‑go simulation platform. Engineers faced severe computational limits that forced a tradeoff between simulation accuracy and acceptable delivery times, so the company launched ZephyCloud to deliver higher‑fidelity results quickly without customers needing to buy licenses or on‑premises hardware.

To achieve that goal MeteoPole chose AWS for its price/performance and startup resources, building ZephyCloud on Amazon EC2 to run large numbers of parallel simulations on demand. The result: calculations that once took weeks now run in about an hour, meter‑level resolution replaces 20‑meter limits, customers pay only for what they use, and the platform’s global AWS footprint (including Beijing) enables secure, scalable expansion into key markets.
