MediSys Replicates Patient Records and Medical Images to AWS

MediSys, a healthcare network overseeing 750 hospital beds, needed a more resilient way to protect millions of patient records, EHR data, and medical images while improving disaster recovery and compliance. Working with Amazon Web Services, the company moved critical systems to an alternate production environment in the cloud to support patient care and reduce reliance on its on-premises data center.

Amazon Web Services and AWS Professional Services helped MediSys replicate data to AWS, validate its disaster recovery environment by running EHR production there for three weeks, and deploy services using the AWS Landing Zone Accelerator for Healthcare to meet security and compliance standards. The result was a highly available cloud environment that outperformed the on-premises data center in exception rate and response time, while also helping MediSys achieve ROI goals and lower traditional data center management costs.
