McCormick - Customer Case Study

McCormick & Company, a global leader in flavors with more than $4 billion in annual sales, launched FlavorPrint — a predictive, personalized recommendation tool that maps individual taste profiles to recipes and meal plans. After a beta that grew to 100,000 participants and drove a 4.9% sales lift, McCormick needed a low‑cost, highly scalable platform to handle rapid, worldwide growth and large volumes of recipe, image and session data.

McCormick moved FlavorPrint to AWS, using Amazon EC2 (with Auto Scaling and Elastic Load Balancing), CloudFront, S3 and a MongoDB backend to host Enterra’s Cognitive Reasoning Platform and serve recommendations and assets. The migration doubled processing capacity, cut infrastructure costs by about 50%, enabled near‑instant QA and test environments, and supported a doubling of traffic in two months — giving McCormick the scalability and agility to expand partnerships and handle holiday demand.
