Mawdoo3 Uses AWS to Boost Visitor Experience and Remove Barriers to Innovation

Mawdoo3 is the world’s largest Arabic‑language content platform, launched in 2012 and now serving over 42 million unique visitors a month with 140,000+ original articles. The company wanted to remove barriers to knowledge by using AI—enabling voice search across Arabic dialects, faster access to content, and unpredictable traffic handling—while needing the compute capacity to support deep‑learning projects.

Mawdoo3 moved its infrastructure to AWS and uses services including Elastic Beanstalk, Amazon ECR, API Gateway, Auto Scaling, and CloudWatch to build voice‑to‑text features, a social‑voice app (Gharred), and developer APIs with open‑source frameworks like TensorFlow. The migration halved web and mobile response times, made infrastructure 22 times more efficient, improved database and security management, and unlocked the dynamic capacity required to sustain ongoing AI innovation.
