A Amazon Web Services Case Study
Luxoft, an AWS Advanced Consulting Partner, worked with a major U.S. healthcare organization that struggled to provide a single, accurate view of patient deductibles and out-of-pocket accumulators across separate medical and pharmacy claims systems. Data was often at least 24 hours out of sync, causing incorrect charges and high customer-support load, and the organization needed a solution that would integrate with legacy mainframe systems without major disruption.
Luxoft built a private Hyperledger Fabric blockchain on AWS with payer-specific channels, a multi-region node topology, and REST/BPM adapters to simplify integration with COBOL-based systems. The PoC met functional requirements, improved batch throughput, and cut the out-of-sync window from about 24 hours to roughly 200 milliseconds, while highlighting inherent blockchain and legacy-system latency constraints and enabling future cross-enterprise consortium opportunities.
