LOT Polish Airlines - Customer Case Study

LOT Polish Airlines, a long-established carrier linking Central and Eastern Europe to destinations worldwide, needed a mobile solution to let customers book tickets and access travel information anytime, anywhere. In 2014 the airline sought a globally available, highly scalable platform to handle spikes in traffic during promotions and to serve a growing number of smartphone and tablet users.

Working with partner AMG.net, LOT built a mobile site and iOS/Android apps on AWS using cloud services (compute, database, storage, caching, CDN, DNS, monitoring and message queuing) exposed as lightweight reusable services. Delivered in about six months, the solution provides fast, reliable global access, serves users in 60+ countries, increased ticket sales and customer satisfaction, and reduced IT maintenance costs while giving the airline flexibility to roll out new mobile features.
