LIONSGATE - Customer Case Study

LIONSGATE, a $2 billion global entertainment company behind properties like Mad Men and The Hunger Games, faced growing IT pressures from expanding infrastructure costs, heavier enterprise workloads, and tighter time-to-market demands. To reduce costs, increase flexibility, and speed operations, the company explored cloud-based solutions for development/test, production applications, backup, archive, and disaster recovery.

LIONSGATE adopted AWS services (Amazon S3, EC2, EBS and VPC) to extend its datacenter to the cloud. The move cut infrastructure deployment from weeks to days or hours, enabled production SharePoint and SAP testing (with servers stood up in two days), improved disaster recovery, availability and backups, and avoided more than $1M in data-center costs over three years—projected to save roughly 50% versus traditional hosting—while maintaining security and scalability.
