Liberty Mutual Reduces Costs, Improves Time to Market by Going Serverless on AWS

Liberty Mutual Insurance partnered with Amazon Web Services to modernize its application development and move toward a serverless-first approach on AWS. The company needed a more agile, cost-effective way to support global workloads, replace complex on-premises processes, and speed up delivery while still managing legacy systems.

Amazon Web Services helped Liberty Mutual implement a serverless architecture using AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, AWS CDK, and AWS Well-Architected guidance. The results included processing 100 million monthly transactions in Financial Central Services at a cost of just $60 per million transactions, reducing projects that once took about a year to around 3 months, and delivering one insurance application 12 weeks early.
