LexisNexis - Customer Case Study

LexisNexis Legal & Professional, a global provider of legal and business content serving customers in more than 175 countries, needed to refresh the technology behind its business-critical News Archive—over 2 billion searchable documents—because aging data-center hardware and long procurement times (two to three months) limited agility, scalability, and the high-performance search required by its users.

LexisNexis moved the News Archive to AWS using high-memory EC2 instances, Auto Scaling, CloudFormation, multiple Regions/Availability Zones, and a migration partner, completing the move in four months. The cloud rollout cut system provisioning from months to under a week, enabled rapid, minute-scale scaling during traffic spikes, improved search performance, increased usage visibility, and is expected to reduce costs while supporting a more agile, continuous-deployment operating model.
