Kingnet Technology is a Shanghai-based social game developer founded in 2008 that grew from 10 to 100 employees while expanding its audience from Chinese networks to global platforms. With about 30 million installations and 6 million daily active users, the company’s existing infrastructure couldn’t efficiently handle the surge in traffic and needed an affordable, scalable alternative.

Kingnet adopted Amazon EC2 to dynamically scale capacity for peak and off-peak usage and to pay only for the compute it actually uses, improving performance and cost-efficiency. The company plans to add Amazon CloudFront to further manage traffic, and reports that AWS provides the scalability and affordability required to support its fast-growing global user base.
