Kim Teck Cheong - Customer Case Study

Kim Teck Cheong (KTC) is a 471‑employee, family‑owned FMCG wholesaler and private‑label manufacturer in East Malaysia with roughly 50% B2B market share that was preparing to expand into Brunei and Southeast Asia. Its on‑premises data center in West Malaysia caused unacceptable service delays and required specialized staff for maintenance, so KTC sought a scalable, secure cloud solution with reliable disaster recovery and lower staffing and infrastructure costs.

Working with AWS partner G‑Asiapacific, KTC migrated critical apps (SAP Business One, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Multidocs) and more than 10 TB of data to AWS using EC2, Amazon VPC, S3, RDS and CloudFront; planning took three months and the cutover three weeks. The move delivered faster performance, built‑in backup/DR, and the ability to scale its online catalog (from 180M toward 450M items) while keeping a lean IT team of three and avoiding new hires, with G‑Asiapacific managing the environment.
