JKOS is a Taipei-based startup (founded 2014) that launched a multi-service mobile app in 2015 for food delivery, taxi bookings, and payments; by early 2017 it had about 60 employees, 300,000 users, and connections to 40,000 businesses. JKOS built its production environment on AWS (with APN partner eCloudvalley), using Route 53, an Amazon VPC with EC2 web/app servers, replicated RDS databases, S3 backups, SQS, and CloudFront to support services like a 400-restaurant food-delivery launch. The move cut IT startup costs by 90% and IT management costs by 83%, delivered near-100% uptime, scaled to handle tenfold user spikes from marketing, and let JKOS grow services and revenue without increasing labor or admin overhead.
