A Amazon Web Services Case Study

Preview of the iZettle Case Study

iZettle - Customer Case Study

iZettle provides smartphone card-payment solutions for small businesses and expanded rapidly across 12 countries on three continents. The company needed a global, low‑latency, and PCI‑compliant infrastructure that would give its DevOps team flexibility to iterate quickly while securely connecting to many third‑party financial institutions—limitations of traditional hosting were slowing growth.

iZettle migrated its core systems to AWS—using EC2, RDS/EBS, Route 53, Direct Connect, SNS/SQS, CloudWatch and multiple regions/Availability Zones—to achieve secure, global availability. The move halved database query times (from 6s to 3s), replaced costly underused SSD capacity with pay‑for‑use EBS, cut server provisioning from weeks to about 90 minutes, and delivered the compliance, scalability, and regional coverage needed to accelerate international expansion.
