Intuit Migrates Apache Cassandra Workloads to Amazon Keyspaces with High Availability and Reliability

Intuit, the global technology platform behind products like TurboTax, QuickBooks, and Mint, needed to reduce the burden of managing Apache Cassandra infrastructure for its IDX team while improving productivity and operational efficiency. To retain Cassandra-compatible functionality without the overhead of cluster administration, Intuit chose Amazon Web Services’ Amazon Keyspaces as a cloud-native managed service.

Amazon Web Services helped Intuit migrate Apache Cassandra workloads using a dual-write approach, allowing data to be written to Cassandra and Amazon Keyspaces in parallel during testing and cutover. The result was a large-scale migration completed with zero downtime and no adverse customer impact, while improving reliability, enabling easier scaling, and accelerating data recovery; AWS also provided engineering support and delivered two performance enhancements during the project.
